HUMOUR IN UNIFORM -THE
TYPEWRITER
As students at the Staff College at
Wellington in the seventies, we had to write assignments that had to be
submitted at a fixed hour. Most officers wrote their assignments in longhand,
while a few had portable typewriters. However, not everyone could type fast
enough and a spouse who could type your assignments was a big asset.. One day, the following message was pinned on the notice
board in the locker room.
HAVE TYPEWRITER BUT WIFE DOES NOT KNOW TYPING.
WILLING TO SHARE WITH SOMEONE WHOSE WIFE CAN TYPE.
